Handcrafted raffle prize

Exhibitor Tina McCloud of Karma Artwear will donate a handcrafted necklace and a hand-dyed scarf for a raffle. All ticket sales will go toward rebuilding the museum, which was destroyed by fire in July.

The necklace, like all of McCloud’s original jewelry pieces, is made of old and new components and is one of a kind, she said. The necklace includes celadon ceramic and resin beads, blue ceramic beads, beige and celadon rolled paper beads, vintage simulated pearls and silver-tone bead caps and rounds. The oval mother-of-pearl pendant is celadon and beige. Matching earrings are included.

McCloud designed the jewelry to match the scarf, which is from the “To Dye For” collection. These one-of-a-kind silk scarves are hand-dyed by special education students at Mathews High School, said McCloud. It is in muted autumn colors. McCloud is the authorized retailer for the scarves outside of Mathews.

Raffle tickets are $5 each. They will be available from McCloud at the Wine and Cheese Court from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, and at the Karma Artwear booth (space 28) at the festival from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday.

The winning ticket will be drawn after the festival closes. There is no need to be present to win; the winner will be notified and the prize will be mailed.

The Deltaville Maritime Museum and Holly Point Nature Park is at 287 Jackson Creek Road in Deltaville. An Artist’s Preview Night will be held Friday evening.
