Some of the items which will be sold at the Historyland Community Workshop sale Saturday, November 17, are displayed at the Lancaster Community Library (above) and the Northumberland County Public Library.

“All soft toys and dolls, sweaters, afghans, holiday decorations, wall hangings, table runners and Christmas ornaments are handmade, as is everything we sell,” said Luci York.

Customers will find familiar jams, jellies, pickles and relishes, said York. There are cookies and soups by the jar, as well as an assortment of cookies, cakes, pies and breads.

The Wisconsin white cheddar cheese is always popular, although this isn’t made locally, she added.

The recycled jewelry also is popular, said York. This year, Historyland will add a “donations” table. A “bargains” table will offer handmade items from last year at reduced prices.

In addition to the sale, Historyland is conducting a raffle, she said. Tickets are $1 each, or six for $5. The drawing will beheld at 12:30 p.m.

First prize is golf for four at the Golden Eagle Golf Course; second, $300 cash; third, $100 credit at Farm & Home; fourth, a pink and floral quilt; fifth, a hand-painted Christmas plate by Chris Young; sixth, a traditional food basket with a selection of Historyland edibles.
