On Stage to open 19th season

The Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts recently announced its 19th season of On Stage with performances by Cantus, The Capitol Steps, Quartetto Gelato, Virginia Symphony Orchestra Jazz Ensemble, and Steep Canyon Rangers.

Support for the series is provided by Chesapeake Bank and Chesapeake Investment Group, said external communications vice president Julia Geier. Program sponsors are River Counties Community Foundation, Wells Fargo Advisors, Bank of Lancaster and Bay Trust, Rumsey & Bugg and Tri-Star Supermarket.

RFA also receives support from the Virginia Commission for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, said Geier.

On Stage opens at 3 p.m. September 30 with a performance by the vocal ensemble Cantus. The Capitol Steps will perform at 7 p.m. October 28; Quartetto Gelato, 7:30 p.m. November 24; Virginia Symphony Orchestra Jazz Ensemble, 7:30 p.m. March 2; and Steep Canyon Rangers, 7:30 p.m. April 13.

All performances will be held at the Lancaster Middle School Theater at 191 School Street in Kilmarnock.

On Stage season subscriptions for the 2012-13 series are $150 for adults and $50 for students. Individual show tickets are $32 each.
