Troops respond for
Vietnam-era Veterans reception

Some 175 people attended the standing-room only event at Dreamfields near Kilmarnock last Saturday. Approximately 100 of those were Vietnam-era veterans, according to event organizer Carroll Lee Ashburn.

Ian Anderson, a senior at the Chesapeake Bay Governor’s School, shows Keithan Bauer, 7, some of the weapons used during the Vietnam war. Bauer’s father is in the Air Force and stationed in Germany. He and his sister, Sierra, are living here with family and attended last Saturday’s Vietnam-era Veterans Appreciation Day event. Anderson participates in the King William-based Military History air/ground operations group.
