“In celebration of our first exhibit of 2013, we are breaking our own tradition by featuring the colorful and often flashy works of three very talented artists, all residing in Urbanna,” said gallery co-owner Barbara Hartley.

Wanda Hollberg is a well-established glass artist, said Hartley. She works in architectural stained glass and in fused glass jewelry. She holds a bachelor of fine art from Virginia Commonwealth University in glass and jewelry.

Her work has been included in many juried shows, at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art, in a special exhibit in St. Lo, France, and in galleries across the U.S. Her fused glass jewelry will be featured in the exhibit, said Hartley.

Ron Courtney has a bachelor’s in fine art painting from Virginia Commonwealth University. Although he always kept his hand stirring around in his artistic roots, several years ago he renewed his focus on his painting, she said. A shift toward abstract painting proved providential for him. He has been successfully showing regionally and has been included in several juried shows and galleries in the Richmond area over the past few years.

David Dunville studied fine art and architecture at North Carolina State and the University of Richmond, said Hartley. Since retiring, he has been judiciously developing his art and stature in the field. Working primarily in abstract, his art has won placement in multiple juried shows in Richmond and the Eastern Virginia region.

Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sundays.
