Northumberland went up by four points in a low-scoring first quarter, but gave up the lead early in the second for good. Minus leading scorer Nia Jones, the Lady Indians were held to single-digit scoring in all four quarters. Shirleya Henry led Northumberland with seven points.

Tylisha Crockett, who is also one of the district’s leading scorers, was held scoreless. She did not start but got playing time in the second, third and fourth quarters.

Lancaster went on a 10-4 run in the second quarter with the help of six points by Aleyah Davenport to take the lead.

Taylor dominated in the third, scoring 11 of her 18. The Devils outscored the Indians 20-6 to take a 34-18 lead.

Anesha White added seven points for Lancaster and Davenport had six.

The Lady Devils, who improved to 14-3 overall and 3-1 in the district, will host Colonial Beach tonight (January 31) and travel to Northumberland next Tuesday, February 5. They play their final regular season game next Thursday, February 7, at Rappahannock.
