Registration and a captains briefing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, November 22, at the marina. There will be door prizes along with food, beverages, tournament t-shirts and vendors.
Tournament fishing will begin at 7 a.m. out of any port, and will end at 3 p.m. said committee member Angela Kelly.
The weigh-master will accept fish at Smith Point Marina, said Kelly. Fishermen may also turn their catch in at Buzzard's Point Marina in Reedville and at Norview Marina on Broad Creek in Deltaville.
The awards ceremony will immediately follow the tournament at Fairfield's Volunteer Fire Department starting at 6 p.m. Dinner will be catered by Fred's BBQ & Ribs. Cold beverages will be available.
The dinner entertainment will be provided by Kasey Rae Meeks, accompanied by DJ Steve Gordon, The dinner and related activities is open to the public and the barbecue will be sold by the plate, she said.
There will be a silent and live auction as well.
Winners will be drawn for the annual raffle. Raffle tickets can be purchased from any committee member until tournament time, or call Kelly at 436-5897, or 453-3041.
Prizes include a cash prize of $250, a chartered fishing trip with Capt. Woody Robinson aboard "Sharon's Song," Oakley sunglasses, an IPod, a Release Rod and Reel, and a Kindle Fire.
The tournament entry fee is $150. Entry forms may be obtained at cnrtournament.com. The CNR Tournament will pay six places, a big fish Calcutta, a youth prize and a lady angler prize said Kelly.
Proceeds benefit the CNR Memorial Scholarship Fund and Fairfields Volunteer Fire Department.
