Northern Neck All-Stars post strong finish
to conclude high school basketball seasons

Northern Neck teams dominated the hardwood Saturday as boys and girls squads claimed easy wins over Tidewater Conference teams in the 16th annual Northern Neck Shrine Club’s All-Star Basketball Games at Lancaster High School.

In the girls contest, Northumberland’s Tylisha Crockett scored 15 points and Shirleya Henry 12 to lead all scorers and pace the Northern Neck All Stars in a lopsided 62-28 win over Tidewater. West Point’s Nicole Liberato led Tidewater with 11 points.

Justice Gordon of Northumberland and the Northern Neck team was named MVP of the girls game.

In the boys contest, Colonial Beach’s Keane Foster was named MVP. He led the Northern Neck All Stars to an 80-58 win over Tidewater. Foster and Colonial Beach teammate Monte Gould combined for 32 points.

Trevon Taylor of Lancaster was the winner of the WIGO Country-Bay 101.7 half-court shootout. Taylor beat out seven other finalists for the $100 prize.

Proceeds from the all-star games benefit Shriners’ charities.
