All-Conference #43
boys teams have
local representation

Colonial Beach and Washington & Lee claimed the top spots on the All-Conference #43 boys basketball team.

Montie Gould of Colonial Beach was named the conference's player of the year and George Hunter, who led Washington & Lee to the conference tournament championship, was chosen as the coach of the year. 

W&L also named Treshaun Brown to the first team and Jeremy Turner to the second team. 

Gould also made the first team and Colonial Beach's Keane Foster was named to the second team.

Northumberland named one player to the first team in Wesley Jackson, while Lancaster's Trevon Taylor received second-team honors. 

Others named to the first team were Rappahannock's (Warsaw) Marcus Byrd and Essex High's Sterling Hammond.

Those named to the second team included Rappahannock's Kelvonte Ellis and Essex High's DJ Ashlock.

Lancaster had three players receive all-academic recognition including Taylor, James Coleman and Tyrell Henderson. Northumberland's Blake Walker also was named to the all-academic team.
