Morattico mystery to be reviewed

Jeremy Crossland Peill will review, Q&A, A Morattico Murder Mystery, for the Books Alive! program at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the Northumberland Public Library, 7204 Northumberland Highway, Heathsville.

+ A | - A

This “tragi-comic murder mystery,” was written to express his deep affection for the people and places of the Northern Neck, said Peill.

Recognizable roads, sites and characters are paramount features. The plot involves the sleuthing abilities of two village old-timers, Wilma and Birdie, who try to find the answers to questions beginning with what was going on in the field on Route 3 near the Pinckardsville turn.

A full-time Northern Neck resident since 2003, he has translated his love of the Morattico area into painting local scenes and has included some of them in the book.

A discussion, book signing, and refreshments will follow the review. Arts Alive! is sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
