Unless otherwise noted, all events take place at the Studio Gallery, 19 North Main Street, Kilmarnock, reported Barbara Pulling. Gallery hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays.

A One Woman Show by RAL member Lella Lee Edwards will open May 1 and continue through the month. The show will feature original works, said Pulling.

The show will be the highlight of the First Friday Reception from 5 to 7 p.m. May 2. The public is invited to join members at the gallery to discuss the works with Edwards. Light refreshments will be served, noted Pulling.

On May 3, the RAL will host a sidewalk sale to coincide with Kilmarnock’s Shop Local Day. “There will be a great variety of items for sale including framed and unframed paintings, prints, and items from the gift shop,” she said.

The RAL will host a Mother’s Day Tea at 3 p.m. May 10. Contact the Studio Gallery at 436-9309 to purchase tickets, said Pulling.

Karen Daly of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts will present “Nazi Era Looted Art: Journey to Resolution” at the May Art Forum. The program will begin at 1 p.m. May 19 at the gallery.

Daily will speak on issues of looted art and restitution, particularly of art misappropriated during the World War II era, said Pulling. The presentation will provide a historical overview and the subsequent response of the museum community including the VMFA’s experiences in resolving two art restitution claims.
