The 4X800-meter relay team of Sean Jones, Patrick Kelley, Travis Boyd and Kenique Stewart ran a 8:48.52 at the Lee Davis Invitational last weekend to set a new school record and record the fastest time among Group A boys 800-meter relay teams in the state.

“Now all three boys relay teams have the fastest posted times in the state and so do the girls 4X800,” said LHS coach Joanne Webb-Fary.

Lancaster’s boys 1,600 and 400 relay teams posted Group A’s fastest times two weeks ago.

Also at Lee Davis, Ronnie Cutler ran a 10:42.14 for Lancaster in the two-mile and the boys 4X100-meter team of Demetrick Lee, Kaliq Noel, Tyrell Henderson and Justin Washington placed third in 43.67.

Freshman distance runner Mary Frere broke her own school record and was the runner-up in the mile in 5:32.

Jamea Smith took 10th in the shot put with a 32’ 9 1/2” throw.

Lancaster’s boys and girls track and field teams will compete close to home Thursday, May 22, when Northumberland hosts the conference meet at 2 p.m.
