Lady Devils sluggers rout W&L, 15-7

Lancaster batted around to score 10 runs in the sixth inning for a 15-7 rout of Washington & Lee Tuesday in varsity softball in Montross.

Kelli Tignor led the Lady Devils at the plate, going 3-for-5 with four RBIs. Le’Aira Kelley went 3-for-5 with three runs scored and Alexis Reed was 1-for-5 for two RBIs. Mikayla Meadows was 2-for-5 with one RBI. 

Lancaster split in conference games last week with Northumberland beating the Lady Devils, 10-1, at Dream Fields near Kilmarnock on Thursday. 

Brittany Jones had the big bat for Lancaster, going 2-for-3 with a run scored, while Allison Savoy went 1-for-3 with an RBI. Meadows also batted 1-for-3. 

The Lady Devils will take the field again at 5 p.m. today (May 8) at home against Essex and will host Colonial Beach at 5 p.m.Tuesday, May 13. There are only five games remaining in regular season play.
