Firecracker 5k to ignite
annual July 4 celebration

Runners, joggers and walkers will hit the pavement in Reedville early on Independence Day for the 12th annual Reedville Firecracker 5K Run/Walk.

The event will ignite the village’s Independence Day Celebration July 5. The race starts at 8 a.m. at Festival Halle, 177 Main Street, Reedville. Registration and packet pickup times are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 4 at Festival Halle and from 6:45 to 7:45 a.m. on race day.

Trophies will be awarded to the top three male and female finishers in eight age groups, 12 and younger, 13-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and older.

Registration is $25 for adults and $10 for ages 12 and younger. T-shirts are guaranteed to the first 300 folks to register.

The course is flat and will extend along Main Street and finish by winding through the back streets of Reedville.

Profits support the Reedville Independence Day Fireworks Celebration.

Fireworks will be held at 9 p.m. July 5 over Cockrell’s Creek. The fireworks conclude a day-long celebration featuring food, music, games and a 3 p.m. parade.
