Irvington parade slated for July 4

The Town of Irvington invites the public to its annual 4th of July Hometown Parade at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 4.

The parade starts near Crockett’s Landing and follows King Carter Drive east to the Baptist and Methodist churches at Irvington Road.

Former mayor, school superintendent and school board member Alexander Fleet will serve as grand marshal. Retired U.S. Navy Lt. Paul Galanti will be recognized as a guest of honor.

The parade lineup also will feature the mayor and town officials, the Kilmarnock & District Pipe Band, children on bicycles, antique cars, Shriner units and decorated golf carts.

Following the parade, antique cars will be displayed at the Irvington Commons.

Parade lineup starts at 9 a.m. To enter the parade, call the town office from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 438-6230.
