The event extends from 4 to 8 p.m. and will feature a dozen craft beers, barbecue from Savannah Joe’s in Kilmarnock and bluegrass from JJ & Co., who will perform two sets beginning around 5 p.m.

Tickets are $30 and include the music, barbecue, a souvenir beer glass and four tasting tickets, said education director and curator Robert J. Teagle. Additional beverage tickets will be available for purchase during the event. Tickets are available at christchurch1735.org or Historic Christ Church, Burkes Jewelers or Lamberth’s Building Materials of White Stone.

Comprised of Justin Burke on guitar and vocals, Bailey Horsley on banjo, vocals and harmonica, and Tom Propst on upright bass and vocals, James Justin & Company has attracted a loyal following after years of touring the U.S., said Teagle.

The band plays a bluegrass Americana style rich in melodies, harmonies, and powerful lyrics, he said. JJ & Co. has performed at a number of major music festivals, including FloydFest, Red Wing Roots Music Festival and the Bristol Rhythm & Roots Reunion.

Justin Burke said he is particularly excited to play in a place that has special meaning for him and his bandmates and their families.
