Let’s go threshing

by Renss Greene

Farmers, volunteers and visitors gathered to see the sawmill and antique harvesting and threshing equipment at the Northern Neck Farm Museum Saturday, June 18. Engines and equipment were on display from the turn of the century to the present day as museum volunteers demonstrated harvesting and threshing wheat over the course of the century. "Threshing" is the process separating the wheat grain from the husks and stems, or chaff.
