“I want to be able to take care of people from the Middle Peninsula on the Middle Peninsula,” said Emory. “I really enjoy what I do and love taking care of patients.”

Among the patients Emory has worked with over his more than two decades of experience are many cancer patients undergoing reconstructive surgeries, children born with deformities like cleft lip, victims of catastrophic events including car accidents, insured breast reduction surgeries to alleviate shoulder and neck pain as well as facial reconstruction. He also has years of experience in all aspects of cosmetic surgery including breast augmentation and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck).

“For so many of our patients, especially those working to rebuild their lives spiritually and physically after cancer treatments, having Dr. Emory’s expertise available at Walter Reed is an enhancement to the care available to our patients,” said Fred Arnold, M.D., service line chief. “We’re pleased to have him as part of our care team.”

Dr. Emory attended the College of William and Mary and Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is double board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He completed his five-year general surgery training at the Mayo Clinic and then trained for an additional two years in plastic surgery at the George Washington University and Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, D.C.

Emory served at George Washington as a clinical professor of surgery. He also served in the U.S. Army, earning the rank of major before returning to civilian medicine.

Emory also has privileges at Riverside’s Doctors’ Hospital and Doctor’s Surgery Center in Williamsburg.
