The bank collected school supplies and monetary donations at its four Northern Neck branches and Operations Center to benefit the Northern Neck Family YMCA’s Bright Beginnings Program. Chesapeake Bank also collected items at its branches in Gloucester, Mathews and Williamsburg for other agencies. In addition to the school supplies, Chesapeake Bank raised more than $5,000 in the communities it serves.

“I never grow tired of seeing the pure joy on the faces of the children who benefit from this program,” said assistant vice president and Kilmarnock branch manager Cathy Snowden. “It is truly a special experience.”

Snowden and 10 other Chesapeake Bank employees also volunteered to serve as a Bright Beginnings Shopping Buddy this past month, taking time out of their schedules to go shopping for clothing with area children.
