Delegate race down to the wire;
Jenkins holds on to board seat

At 11 a.m. Wednesday, the day after the election, the race for the 99th District seat in the House of Delegates was still undecided. With 35 of 37 precincts reporting, incumbent Democrat Albert Pollard and Republican challenger Catherine Crabill were only 721 votes apart. Pollard had 10,892 votes and Crabill had 10,171 votes.

The unreported precincts are in Lancaster County at the rescue squad building in Kilmarnock and in White Stone. Election officials were waiting for a repairman before those votes could be totaled.

In the Lancaster District 1 supervisor race, incumbent F.W. "Butch"Jenkins Jr. had 522 votes and challenger Richard L. Pleasants had 303 with two of two precincts reporting.

The totals were reported on the State Board of Elections website.
