Davis Dodge to lose franchise

Kilmarnock’s last new car dealership has been told it will lose its Chrysler franchise.

Davis Dodge-Chrysler Jeep is among some 26 Virginia dealers notified by Chrysler they will lose their franchises, effective June 10.
Some 789 dealerships nationwide will lose their franchises next month as Chrysler continues to reorganize.
Chrysler has received some $4 billion in federal loans and has been operating in bankruptcy protection since April 30. Sales this year are down some 46 percent compared to last year this time. Chrysler reported a net loss of some $16.8 billion for 2008.
