Former Commonwealth's Attorney arraigned

LANCASTERFormer Lancaster County Commonwealth's Attorney C. Jeffers Schmidt Jr. was arraigned Wednesday, November 14, in Lancaster General District Court.

He was charged with a misdemeanor of false entry and destroying public records. The incidents allegedly occurred after Schmidt lost a re-election bid last year and new Commonwealth's Attorney Robert Cunningham was preparing to assume the post.
Judge Gordon Wilkins set a trial date for March 6.
