Post-season district
baseball honors posted

Rappahannock’s Josh Hall and Larry Barker and Northumberland’s Kyle Hall lead the list of picks for the All-Northern Neck District baseball team.

Josh Hall, a senior catcher, was named co-player of the year along with senior pitcher Kyle Hall. Barker was selected by his peers as the district coach of the year.

J. Hall also was named to the district first team as catcher and K. Hall made the first-team cut as pitcher.

Rappahannock was the Northern Neck’s regular season and tournament champion. Northumberland was the tournament runner-up. Both teams will advance to the Region A tournament this week.

Lancaster, which finished as the regular season runner-up, named four to the district first team including senior pitcher/third baseman Will Barrack as a utility player, senior first baseman Ty Laws as a designated hitter, junior Chris Buzzell as third baseman and junior Joseph “Tay” Betts as shortstop.

Barrack also was selected as a second-team pitcher. Laws was a second-team first baseman and Lancaster’s Shaq Harvey was a second-team outfielder.

Rappahannock named four to the first team, including J. Hall, junior pitcher Tanner France and senior outfielders Garrett Withers and Brandon Oliff.

Northumberland’s only first-team selection was K. Hall.

Others named to the first team were sophomore second baseman Carlton Pollard and senior outfielder Paris Pollard, both of Essex.

Second-team selections included sophomore pitcher Jacob Roberts, junior second baseman William Johns and senior designated hitter Dylan Fones, all of Rappahannock; senior catcher Bubby Miles, sophomore shortstop Dylan Clarke and junior outfielder Travis Segar, all of Washington & Lee; junior outfielder Deon Hammond of Essex; and sophomore third baseman Jalen Conaway of Northumberland.
